Schoolgirls are extremely popular protagonists in anime, often going to class by day and fighting magical monsters by night. Their distinct schoolgirl costume is based on the school uniforms that Japanese girls actually wear in real life.
Means "girl" in Japanese. So that's why there are so many girls in the Shojo Kingdom.
MANGA
The Japanese word for comic books. "The Wandering Schoolgirl" is an example of manga.
